Summer 2012 Residencies – Vermont & Paris

Elizabeth was in Residence at the Vermont Studio Center, drawing the Burklyn Ballet dancers and collaborating with some of the Ballet staff on classroom choreography and her art.

She drew the dancers in calligraphic style on rice paper and on linen.

It was wonderful to be back with the Ballet again.

Elizabeth learned about cooking for a large group with the fabulous chef Mark Hallett at the Vermont Studio Center.

At the end of July, Elizabeth returned to the Irish College in Paris to begin her work on her large sized canvases of the Paris Passages for the Scotiabank Nuit Blanche show. Dr. Juliet Bressan visited Elizabeth and they continued to make new food discoveries at the Marche D’ Aligre . http://smallworldcooking.wordpress.com\

Throughout Elizabeth’s time in Paris, she created meals for the residents of the Irish College and friends and family that visited. Elizabeth became very familiar with the Sunday Bastille Market and the local markets in the Latin Quartier. She learned about Paris architecture, street culture, and walked extensively, learning to piece together the neighbourhoods of the city.

While in Paris, Elizabeth wrote four educational programmes for the Mc Michael Museum in Canada, while enjoying researching programmes globally.

She enjoyed facilitating the programmes with the docents and educators at McMichael in September.
