THE DR. TILL & DR. MCCULLOCH PAINTINGS

On May 18, 2025 the world was devastated to learn that Dr. James E. Till – Canadian Biophysicist and Pioneer of Stem Cell Research and Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto – had passed away. In 2011, Elizabeth Greisman was able to visit Dr. Till in his home where he sat for his portrait. In the years following this wonderful meeting, Elizabeth created a series of oil portraits of Dr. Till and his partner in cellular biology Dr. Ernest McCulloch for an exhibition that she was participating in at the Museum of Health Care in Kingston as part of the Nascent Art Science Collective (April 2016).

Till are featured in Propeller Gallery’s Salon 19 Exhibition running from August 20 to September 7, 2025 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The theme for this exhibition is “Artist’s Best”.
