Introducing my new nom de plume: Elizabeth Jane, Visual Artist!
August and September have been busy months creating art work for upcoming shows and also to tap into the creative inspiration I have been feeling!
Gallery 1313 has been a focus as I participated in the early August Group show and then in the Parkdale Biennial. It’s great to be part of a supportive art community!
I sold my first piece at the RE/Max Unique Inc., Brokerage, located at 1251 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Thank you for your support , RE/MAX Unique Inc, Brokerage!
I can remember seeing the colours on the canvas in the cool mornings at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Ireland.
It is so thrilling!
I enclose a picture of the painting.
It has such a moody aesthetic!
The painting above was also created in Ireland, and it depicts the Irish Contemporary Dancers. It is on view at the RE/MAX currently.
Several small and medium sized Canadian landscape paintings are currently being created after my visits to Barrow Bay, on the Bruce Penninsula, and Pointe au Baril, Georgian Bay, in my Studio at the Wychwood Barns in Toronto.
Nuit Blanche is coming up on October the 5th at Spadina Museum in Toronto, Canada.
Please see above the visuals for “21st Century Craft.”
In this installation, I have worked with repurposed wedding gowns and visual artifacts that one would find in a dressing room where a bride is selecting her garment. I have been long fascinated by a popular bridal television show and imagine each hand-decorated dress in the installation worn by a proud bride to show her audience of supporters. Craft is a way of connecting with our heritage and community.
In November, I have been invited to submit some works on paper to the Rhizome Artists’ Collective in Plymouth, England. They have organized a group show at the Cube3 Gallery in Plymouth, England.
I met this group of very talented Artists when I visited Plymouth, England, this past summer.
I hope everyone is enjoying our beautiful fall weather!
